Key takeaways
- A DTF gang sheet is one 22-inch-wide roll of DTF film that holds many designs, printed together and cut apart before pressing.
- You pay for the sheet, not per design, so the more you fit, the lower your cost per print.
- Example: 65 left-chest logos (4×4 in) fit on a 22×60 in uploaded sheet ($32.99), about $0.51 each, versus $1.75 each as single transfers.
- Build a sheet online with the Gang Sheet Builder, or upload a finished file with Upload Gang Sheet (lower price per inch).
- Standard DTF gang sheets ordered by 12:00 PM EST, Monday–Friday, are printed the same day in Jacksonville, FL.
A DTF gang sheet is a single, 22-inch-wide sheet of DTF film that carries many designs at once, so you can print dozens of logos, shirt fronts and sleeve prints in one order and cut them apart before pressing. Because the price is set by the sheet length, not by the number of designs, a well-packed gang sheet is the cheapest way to buy DTF transfers. This guide explains how gang sheets work, what each size costs at DTF Lord, how to calculate your cost per print and how to lay out a sheet so nothing is wasted. We print every sheet at our shop for custom DTF transfers in Jacksonville.
What is a DTF gang sheet?
A DTF gang sheet is a long piece of direct-to-film (DTF) transfer film with several designs "ganged" together on it. The designs can be the same artwork repeated, or completely different artworks in different sizes. After printing, the film is coated with adhesive powder and cured, and you receive one ready-to-press sheet.
You then cut each design out with scissors or a trimmer and press it onto a shirt, hoodie, tote bag or hat. Each cut piece behaves exactly like a single DTF transfer. If you are new to the print method itself, start with our guide What Are DTF Transfers? and come back here.

Three things define every gang sheet:
- Width: always 22 inches at DTF Lord. Your designs must fit inside that width.
- Length: you choose it, from 5 inches up to 240 inches (20 feet), depending on the product.
- Content: any mix of designs and sizes, as long as they do not overlap.
How does a DTF gang sheet work?
A DTF gang sheet works by filling one fixed-width sheet with as many designs as possible, printing it in one pass and splitting it into individual transfers after delivery. The process has five steps:
- Choose a sheet length. Pick the length that holds all of your designs with a little spacing.
- Arrange the designs. Use our online Gang Sheet Builder, or arrange them yourself in design software and upload one finished file.
- We print and cure the sheet. We print the film, apply adhesive powder and cure it so it is ready to press.
- Pick up or receive the sheet. Orders placed by 12:00 PM EST, Monday–Friday, are printed the same day. Choose local pickup in Jacksonville, local delivery, or shipping (free on orders of $99 or more).
- Cut and press. Cut each design out, leaving a small border of film, and press it with the settings for your fabric.
There is no minimum order and no art fee, so a gang sheet can be as short as 5 inches if that is all you need.
DTF gang sheet sizes and prices
DTF gang sheet prices at DTF Lord depend on the sheet length and on whether you build the sheet online or upload a finished file. The table below shows current prices for common lengths (all sheets are 22 inches wide).
| Sheet size | Upload Gang Sheet | Gang Sheet Builder |
|---|---|---|
| 22 × 5 in | $3.99 | – |
| 22 × 10 in | $7.49 | – |
| 22 × 20 in | $14.99 | $15.99 |
| 22 × 30 in | $19.49 | $26.24 |
| 22 × 40 in | $25.99 | $34.99 |
| 22 × 60 in | $32.99 | $44.99 |
| 22 × 80 in | $39.99 | $51.99 |
| 22 × 100 in | $46.99 | $59.99 |
| 22 × 120 in | $53.99 | $71.99 |
| 22 × 150 in | $67.49 | $89.99 |
| 22 × 200 in | $89.99 | $99.99 |
| 22 × 240 in | $107.99 | – |
Prices shown are as of October 2026; the product page always has the current price. Two patterns stand out:
- Longer sheets cost less per inch. An uploaded 22×20 in sheet costs about $0.034 per square inch; a 22×240 in sheet costs about $0.020 per square inch.
- Uploading a finished file costs less than building online. You trade the convenience of the builder for a lower price.
How much does each print cost on a gang sheet?
The cost per print on a gang sheet is the sheet price divided by the number of designs that fit on it. To find it, divide 22 inches by your design width (plus spacing) to get designs per row, divide the sheet length by your design height (plus spacing) to get rows, multiply the two, and divide the sheet price by the result.
The examples below use 0.5-inch spacing between designs on uploaded sheets.
| Design size | Sheet | Designs that fit | Cost per print | Same size as single transfer |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 4 × 4 in (left chest) | 22 × 60 in – $32.99 | 65 | ≈ $0.51 | $1.75 |
| 4 × 4 in (left chest) | 22 × 100 in – $46.99 | 110 | ≈ $0.43 | $1.75 |
| 10 × 10 in (full front) | 22 × 60 in – $32.99 | 10 | ≈ $3.30 | $4.49 |
| 10 × 10 in (full front) | 22 × 100 in – $46.99 | 18 | ≈ $2.61 | $4.49 |
| 10 × 10 in (full front) | 22 × 240 in – $107.99 | 44 | ≈ $2.45 | $4.49 |

The math also explains one of the most useful layout rules: a design 11 inches wide cannot sit two across on a 22-inch sheet once you add spacing. Shrinking it to 10.5 inches lets two fit side by side and can nearly halve your cost per print.
Gang sheet vs. single transfers vs. Auto-Size
A gang sheet is the best value when you have many designs or many copies; single transfers or Auto-Size are better when you only need a few prints. DTF Lord sells three ways to buy standard DTF:
| Option | How you pay | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| DTF Transfers by Size | A fixed price per transfer size, e.g. 4×4 in $1.75, 10×10 in $4.49 | One design, a few copies, no layout work |
| Auto-Size DTF Transfer | Only the area your design covers (a 10×10 in design is $3.00) | Odd-sized artwork, a few prints, no sheet to fill |
| DTF gang sheet | The full sheet, regardless of how many designs | Many designs or copies, the lowest cost per print |
Use this quick rule: if you can fill most of a 60-inch sheet, a gang sheet wins. If you would leave half the sheet empty, Auto-Size or single transfers are usually cheaper.
Gang Sheet Builder or Upload Gang Sheet?
Choose the Gang Sheet Builder if you want to arrange designs in your browser, and choose Upload Gang Sheet if you already have a print-ready file. Both print on the same film with the same quality.

| Gang Sheet Builder | Upload Gang Sheet | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | Pick a size, open the builder, upload designs or choose from our designs, place them, save and add to cart | Arrange the sheet yourself, export one file, upload it and choose the matching size |
| Lengths | 22×20 in to 22×200 in | 22×5 in to 22×240 in |
| Price | Higher per inch | Lower per inch |
| Best for | Beginners, mixed designs, no design software | Print shops and repeat sellers with a set template |
Both products are in our DTF gang sheet collection.
How to build a DTF gang sheet step by step
Building a gang sheet in the DTF Lord builder takes five steps:
- Select your sheet size on the Gang Sheet Builder page.
- Click "Create a Gang Sheet" to open the online builder.
- Upload your designs from your computer, or choose ready-made designs from our library.
- Place and size each design on the sheet. Keep a small gap between designs so they are easy to cut.
- Save and add to cart. Check out by 12:00 PM EST on a weekday for same-day printing.
If you are uploading a finished sheet instead, set your canvas to 22 inches wide and the exact length you will order, place your designs, export the file and upload it on the Upload Gang Sheet page.
File requirements for gang sheets
A gang sheet file should be a transparent PNG at 300 DPI, at the exact size you order. Follow these rules to avoid delays and reprints:
- Transparent background. Anything that is not transparent will print, including white boxes behind logos.
- 300 DPI at full size. A 22×60 in sheet at 300 DPI is 6,600 × 18,000 pixels.
- Do not mirror. Send artwork the way it should read on the shirt.
- Exact canvas size. The canvas must match the sheet size you select at checkout.
- No overlapping designs. Overlaps cannot be cut apart cleanly.
Layout tips to fit more designs
The way you arrange a gang sheet decides your cost per print. These layout tips fit more designs on the same length:
- Plan widths around 22 inches. Two designs up to 10.75 in, three up to 7 in, or five up to 4 in fit across with 0.5-inch gaps.
- Fill gaps with small prints. Tuck sleeve prints, neck labels and pocket logos into the space beside large designs.
- Rotate designs. A tall design turned 90° often fits beside another one.
- Use the full length. Empty film at the end of a sheet is money spent on nothing; add extra copies of your best seller.
- Keep 0.25–0.5 in spacing. Enough to cut cleanly, not so much that you waste film.
Selling seasonal shirts? Ready-to-press designs, like those in our Christmas DTF transfers collection, can be added to the builder alongside your own artwork.
Common gang sheet mistakes
Most gang sheet problems come from the file, not the print. Avoid these common mistakes:
| Mistake | What happens | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Low-resolution artwork | Edges look blurry or pixelated | Use 300 DPI at the printed size |
| Hidden white backgrounds | A white box prints around the design | Export as transparent PNG and check it on a dark background |
| Designs too close | Hard to cut without clipping a design | Leave at least 0.25 in between designs |
| Wrong sheet size selected | The file is scaled or cropped to fit | Match the canvas to the size you order |
| Very thin lines or tiny text | Fine details may not transfer well | Keep lines and text thick enough to stay legible |
Once your sheet arrives, follow our guide How to Press DTF Transfers for the right temperature, time and pressure.
UV DTF and glitter gang sheets
Gang sheets are also available on specialty films, and these follow different rules from standard DTF:
- UV DTF gang sheets are peel-and-stick transfers for hard surfaces such as tumblers, cups and glass. They are not heat pressed and take 2 days to process.
- Glitter DTF gang sheets add a sparkle finish to shirts and hoodies and also take 2 days to process.
If you need something today, order standard DTF; specialty films do not qualify for same-day printing.
